What Is Veteran & ADF Support at The Integration Centre?
Veteran support provides a confidential space to explore the impact of service, both during and after military life. We support challenges related to operational exposure, transition out of service, physical injury, identity change, relationship strain, and psychological stress. The focus is on stabilisation, processing, and practical adjustment across daily life, relationships, and work.
How We Support Veterans & ADF Members
- Initial Consultation – We discuss your service history, current challenges, and what you want to focus on in therapy. There is no requirement to retell your full-service history in detail.
- Collaborative Planning – Therapy is collaborative. We work together to develop a plan that reflects your experiences, current circumstances, and goals.
- Ongoing Sessions – Sessions focus on emotional regulation, processing service-related experiences, and developing practical strategies for day-to-day functioning.
- Integration & Reflection – Between sessions, you are supported to reflect on experiences, apply strategies, and integrate insights into everyday life, relationships, and identity.
- Family Support – Therapy for partners and family members affected by service life or service-related challenges.
Who Can Benefit
Veterans, currently serving ADF members, DVA White and Gold Card holders, and family members impacted by service-related experiences.
Our Approach
We provide trauma-informed, evidence-based psychological care grounded in both clinical expertise and an understanding of military culture. We recognise the realities of service life, including operational stress, stigma around help-seeking, and identity transitions. Therapy is structured, practical, and paced according to readiness and operational or life demands.
Safety & Suitability
Safety and suitability are considered throughout therapy, guided by clinical judgment, emotional readiness, and current circumstances. Sessions are paced to support stability, regulation, and sustainable engagement in care.
