How We Work

Our clinical work is process-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-informed psychological practice. Therapy is tailored to the person, their context, and the patterns that are maintaining distress, avoidance, disconnection, or reduced functioning.

A Framework for Psychological Care

A Framework for Psychological Care

A process-based approach focuses on what is keeping the difficulty going. Rather than working only from a diagnosis or symptom list, therapy explores the interaction between experience, environment, body, emotions, thoughts, behaviour, relationships, identity, values, and purpose. This helps therapy stay practical, targeted, and relevant to daily life.

Individual Therapy

One-to-one online psychological care focused on understanding patterns, building awareness, improving regulation, increasing flexibility, and supporting practical change in everyday life.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TR-CBT) may be included within individual therapy where clinically appropriate.

Preparation and Integration Therapy

Preparation and Integration Therapy provides psychological support within a harm-minimisation framework for adults preparing for or integrating self-directed medicine experiences that occur outside therapy.

Supervision and Consultation

Professional supervision and consultation are available for clinicians and organisations working in veteran-informed, Defence-informed, and emergency services.

How We Provide Care

How We Provide Care

  • Assessment and Understanding

Therapy usually begins with assessment, rapport building, and understanding relevant context. Early sessions focus on current concerns, goals, risk, functioning, strengths, supports, and the patterns that may be maintaining distress or reduced functioning.

  • Formulation and Treatment Planning

We work together to develop a shared understanding of what is happening and what may be maintaining the difficulty. This formulation guides treatment targets and gives therapy a clear direction.

  • Targeted Therapeutic Work

Therapy may focus on psychoeducation, regulation, emotional processing, cognitive and behavioural flexibility, values-based action, relationship patterns, identity, purpose, trauma-focused work, or practical coping strategies.

  • Integration Between Sessions

Therapy is supported by practical integration points between sessions. These may include noticing patterns, practising regulation, applying strategies, reflecting on values, or taking small steps toward change.
