Jason Walker
Director | Principal Psychologist
Jason is a registered psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Master of Clinical Psychology.
Jason’s clinical work is informed by extensive experience working with veterans, Defence personnel, emergency services personnel, and people navigating trauma exposure, operational stress, emotional strain, relationship difficulties, identity change, and reduced functioning.
His work is also underpinned by 14 years of service in the Australian Army. This background provides practical insight into military culture, operational demands, emotional containment, stigma around help-seeking, transition, identity change, and the pressure to keep functioning in high-demand environments.
Clinical Approach
Jason uses a process-based approach to psychological care. This means therapy focuses on understanding the underlying patterns that keep difficulties going, rather than reducing people to a diagnosis.
His approach draws on evidence-informed therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, cognitive and behavioural strategies, mindfulness-based skills, trauma-informed practice, EMDR where clinically appropriate, somatic regulation work, and attachment-informed therapy.
Therapy may focus on developing awareness of internal patterns, improving emotional and physiological regulation, increasing psychological flexibility, processing distressing experiences, strengthening relationships, reconnecting with values, and supporting practical change in daily life.
Supervision
Jason also provides clinical supervision to registered and provisional psychologists, with a focus on safe, structured, reflective, and evidence-informed practice.
Supervision is particularly suited to clinicians working with veterans, Defence personnel, and emergency services personnel.

Why People Choose The Integration Centre
People choose The Integration Centre for psychological care that is practical, collaborative, and grounded in both clinical expertise and lived understanding of service environments.
We work with respect for each client’s context, including the impact of service, operational stress, emotional containment, identity change, relationship strain, and the pressure to keep functioning.
Therapy is tailored to the person, not just the diagnosis. The focus is on understanding what may be maintaining distress or reduced functioning and supporting practical change that can be applied in daily life.
A Practical View of Therapy
At The Integration Centre, therapy is not just about talking or gaining insight. It is about integration — taking what is understood in therapy and applying it in a way that supports functioning, relationships, regulation, identity, values, and purpose.
The work is structured, collaborative, and paced according to the person’s readiness and circumstances. The aim is to support change that is practical, sustainable, and relevant to real-world life.
Clinical Standards
The Integration Centre is committed to ethical, evidence-informed, and reflective clinical practice. Care is guided by professional standards, ongoing training, supervision, and clinical judgement.
Where appropriate, we work collaboratively with GPs, psychiatrists, referrers, and other treating professionals to support coordinated care.
Service Provisions
We are a proud service provider to Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
