What Is Preparation & Integration Therapy?
Preparation & Integration Therapy provides psychological support for adults preparing for, or making sense of, self-directed psychedelic or altered-state experiences that occur outside the therapy setting.
The focus is on psychological readiness, emotional grounding, reflection, meaning-making and translating insights into everyday life.
This service does not involve the supply, administration, recommendation, facilitation, supervision or direction of any substance or altered-state experience
How Preparation & Integration Therapy Works
1. Preparation
Preparation sessions focus on psychological readiness, emotional grounding, coping strategies, risk awareness, intentions and planning for appropriate support.
2. Integration
Integration sessions provide space to reflect on the experience, process emotional responses, explore meaning, and translate useful insights into practical changes in everyday life.
Preparation and Integration Therapy remains psychological support only. Any psychedelic or altered-state experience occurs independently and outside the therapy setting.
Who Can Benefit
This service may suit adults seeking psychological support before or after a self-directed psychedelic or altered-state experience occurring outside the therapy setting.
People may seek support to prepare psychologically, better understand an experience, work through emotional responses, explore meaning, or integrate insights into everyday life.
Suitability is considered individually based on the person’s current circumstances, psychological readiness, mental health history, supports and clinical needs.
Our Approach
Preparation and integration work is practical, collaborative and tailored to the individual.
Psychological support may focus on emotional regulation, grounding, psychological flexibility, reflection, meaning-making and translating insights into meaningful changes in everyday life.
The work draws from evidence-based psychological approaches according to the individual, their goals and the clinical context.
Safety & Suitability
Safety and suitability are considered throughout preparation and integration therapy.
The Integration Centre does not supply, administer, recommend, facilitate, supervise or direct psychedelic substances or altered-state experiences.
Where clinically appropriate, collaboration with a GP, psychiatrist or other treating professional may be recommended as part of assessment and care planning, with your consent.
