What Is Preparation & Integration Therapy?

At The Integration Centre, this service provides psychological support within a harm-minimisation framework for adults who independently choose to engage in altered states of consciousness outside of therapy.

The focus is on preparation, emotional safety, and integration — supporting clients to process and make meaning of what their experiences and integrating that meaning into practical, lived change.

Therapy does not involve facilitation, supervision, or direction of any altered state.

How Preparation & Integration Therapy Works

  1.  Preparation Phase — Preparation sessions focus on emotional grounding, psychological readiness, coping strategies, and risk awareness prior to a self-directed experience.
  2. Integration Phase — Integration sessions support reflection, meaning-making and translation of insight into everyday life and actions.

Preparation & Integration Therapy is psychological support only. All altered states are self-directed and occur outside of therapy. No substances are supplied, recommended, administered, or supervised.
